© Brian Pears 1977, 2001, 2002

Images Vic_N_01.jpg to Vic_N_29.jpg were taken on 28th May 1977 during a conducted tour of the NW section of the Victoria Tunnel which was entered through a manhole near the Hancock Museum.

Images Vic_S_01.jpg to Vic_S_13.jpg were taken on 8th June 1977 during an unofficial solo visit to the SE section of the Victoria Tunnel which was entered though the wartime Ouse Street entrance which at that time was in a builder's yard.

For further information on the tunnel see the relevant section of North-East Diary 1939 to 1945 and Phil Thirkell's informative and interesting website entitled simply "Victoria Tunnel".
