The Mayor, Councillor Maureen Goldsworthy unveils the plaque. The Rev Bob Hopper dedicates the plaque. Colonel Daniel B. Edgar, Royal Canadian Air Force, lays a wreath. Just a few of the exhibits telling the story of the fatal crash. One of the guests was Mr Tom Hughes of Ponteland, one of the few surviving World War Two spitfire pilots.
